About the role

We’re looking for a driven and ambitious Engineering Manager to lead teams working on data, segmentation, and audience-focused products that power excellent experiences for our global customers. You will ensure your team members are happy and engaged, and you will use your technical skills to help the team make the right decisions on architecture and implementation.

About the team

The team you’ll be managing currently consists of 3 developers, 1 DevOps engineer, 1 Data Engineer. In the team, we focus on developing and maintaining the foundation on which other teams can build customer-facing products. The focus will be on internal APIs, data pipelines, user event streaming, and building audiences and segments to support our products and services.

Who you are

We believe that you have a background as an excellent developer coupled with at least two years of experience in leading people. You find it equally satisfying to deploy scalable systems to production as watching your team members grow. You enjoy learning, teaching, and improving. You are comfortable in a team environment, and take responsibility for your deliveries and pride in the quality of your work.

Some of your responsibilities:

- Be responsible for solution design as well as doing hands-on work together with the rest of the team.

- Ensure development of your direct reports through coaching, mentoring, and management support.

- Be a champion for code quality, stability and testability within our product and services.

- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.

- Work closely within Engineering Management to build a good engineering culture and to shape long-term direction.

- Be responsible for discovery, pre-planning and grooming activities on Product level.

- Identify and document general maintenance and enhancement efforts in the team’s tech stack

- Champion continuous improvement in team workflows, development processes, and incident management.

- Oversee monitoring, observability, and operational readiness for team-owned systems.

- Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, providing transparency into progress and risks.

- Work closely with Engineering management and the recruitment team in hiring and on-boarding new colleagues.

- Working to ensure a high standard of policies around information security and compliance

When it comes to technical proficiency we are primarily looking for experience with

- Node.js and/or TypeScript

- Python

- Data Engineering and Analytics

- Working with the cloud (AWS), serverless principles and/or microservices

- DevOps practices

- Terraform

Additional Experience with Generative AI systems, PHP or the SIP protocol is highly valued!

We also expect you to have experience from (and a passion for!) leading people and building highly motivated and productive development teams.

Where you’ll be and how you’ll work

We have three offices: London, Uppsala and Paris. This role is based in the Uppsala office.

We work business hours, but we understand that life sometimes gets in the way.
